UPDATED FOR PEAK SEASON 2026: every timetable below was transcribed on 31 July 2026 from the official Amorgos Bus Company poster valid from 29 July 2026. Peak-season service is far richer than spring: the main Aegiali–Chora–Katapola line now runs about 10 times a day with night buses after midnight, and a daily beach bus serves Mouros, Arkesini, Paradisia, the Navagio shipwreck and Kalotaritissa.
The Amorgos local bus system — run by the Amorgos Bus Company (KTEL Amorgos, operating since 1994) — is the cheapest and most efficient way to travel between the island’s main hubs: Aegiali, Katapola, and Chora. Buses operate year-round, with far more frequent routes in the summer season.
Key Amorgos Bus Logistics:
- Main Hubs: Aegiali, Katapola, and Chora, with Agios Pavlos as the mid-route stop between them
- Payment: Cash, paid directly to the driver or conductor
- Frequency: Roughly every 1–2 hours on the main line in peak summer, with night departures at 00:00 and 02:00 from Aegiali; limited in winter
- Operator contact: amorgosbuscompany.com · (+30) 693 667 1033 — the company asks riders to re-check schedules on arrival for changes
- Alternatives: Renting a car or ATV is still the most flexible option for remote beaches

Amorgos’ local buses are usually just called “KTEL buses” or KTEL Amorgos, and they operate all months of the year, but in the summer they are much more frequent.

BEACH BUS: MOUROS, ARKESINI, NAVAGIO SHIPWRECK & KALOTARITISSA (SCHEDULE)
New on the peak-season 2026 poster: a daily beach bus runs the length of the island’s southwest. It leaves Katapola at 11:45 and Chora at 12:00, then calls at Valsamitis, Mouros Beach, Kamari, Arkesini, Paradisia, the Navagio (Olympia shipwreck), and ends at Kalotaritissa. The return leaves Kalotaritissa at 16:00, passing the shipwreck, Paradisia, Arkesini, Kamari, Mouros Beach (16:20) and Valsamitis on the way back to Chora and Katapola.
That gives you roughly four hours at whichever stop you choose — enough for a swim at Mouros or the walk down to the rusting Olympia wreck made famous by The Big Blue. There is one round trip a day, so do not miss the 16:00 return.
